O Laboratório de Fisiologia e Bioquímica de Plantas – LFBP, anteriormente denominado Laboratório de Cultura de Tecidos Vegetais – LCTV, vinculado ao Departamento de Ciências Biológicas da Universidade do Estado do Rio Grande do Norte – UERN, dedica-se ao estudo de aspectos relacionados ao crescimento e desenvolvimento de plantas visando compreender os mecanismos ecofisiológicos e bioquímicos relacionados à adaptação desses organismos ao meio. Nesse sentido, são desenvolvidas atividades de pesquisa que buscam entender o comportamento de plantas submetidas a diversos fatores abióticos, como estresse salino-hídrico e contaminação por metais. O laboratório também se dedica ao estudo da interação planta-microrganismo, com ênfase em fungos fitopatogênicos e micorrizas.
